The Power of the Group

Beit Daniella is a great believer in the power of the group - to reflect, support and sometimes challenge the individual. In addition to the daily group sessions that open and close the day, Beit Daniella offers a variety of therapeutic modules in a group setting.

DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy)
Emotional regulation is a serious challenge for normative teenagers. However, for teenagers struggling with mental health conditions it may be the biggest challenge. DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy) is geared towards emotional regulation and is the leading evidence-based approach being implemented in youth psychiatry hospital departments and therapeutic facilities, internationally. In addition to our weekly DBT groups for students, Beit Daniella offers weekly DBT groups for parents and for staff. The language of DBT and its unique skill set, is present not only in the dedicated DBT groups , but also throughout the day to day at Beit Daniella (and even between teens and their parents at home).

Arts Therapies
As self awareness is often new and challenging for young people, there are many indirect, less guarded entryways into one’s inner world. Art, Music and Movement are known to bypass blockages and open up access to one’s inner world, with each person responding to the module which resonates most with him or her. If developed properly, art/music/movement can be powerful and effective tools and outlets to help youth respond and moderate extreme emotional states on their own, outside the confines of therapy. We believe that these are important coping tools which we provide our students for their post Beit Daniella integration phase and beyond.
